Riverside police Monday were seeking a knife-wielding attacker suspected of stabbing and beating an 80-year-old woman and stabbing a dog.
The woman was in serious but stable condition with multiple stab wounds and blunt-force trauma to her body, the Riverside Police Department said.
She was attacked Monday morning in her mobile home in a trailer park in 4000 block of Pierce Street in the city’s La Sierra neighborhood.
Police described the attack as a home-invasion robbery and said the woman’s 1995 Toyota Camry was stolen.
The dog was stabbed Monday morning in a separate mobile home in the same trailer park, according to police. The condition of the animal was not released.
The suspect was described only as a 25-year-old woman. The stolen Toyota is white with California license plate DP L2518.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Jim Simons at (951) 353-7136.
