CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves told Wall Street analysts in New York City this afternoon that a strike with the Writers Guild would not crimp the television and radio company’s earnings.

‘We continue to engage in serious negotiations and hope an agreement is reached soon. But make no mistake, we are prepared,’ Moonves said during a conference call with analysts to discuss the
company’s third-quarter earnings.

‘We have a full slate of new first-run programming ready to go, both now and at midseason,’ Moonves said. ‘The bottom line is this, in the event of a strike we are fully prepared to offer alternative programming options and we would anticipate no material impact on the company for the remainder of the television season.’
