Redondo keeps conquering

They don’t beat opponents -- they conquer them. Usually by more than 10 points, sometimes by 15 or nearly 20. Last night it was 43.

Redondo girls’ basketball -- scorching at 9-0 -- beat a solid St. Anthony squad, 71-29, in the first round of the Gahr tournament. Once again Atonye Nyingifa played the role as lead conqueror: 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks.

The No. 11-ranked Sea Hawks will face Garfield in the quarterfinal today at 6 p.m.
