There’s no West Valley team that will be able to deprive Taft of the league championship it seeks and the No.1 playoff seeding it craves. And I’m including Cleveland (11-4), considering the Cavaliers have already lost to Fremont, View Park and Price.

But Coach Derrick Taylor said he won’t let his team loaf through its next 11 games, beginning Wednesday at El Camino Real.

‘On paper it doesn’t look like we’ll be pushed,’ he said. ‘But keep in mind, in league everybody knows you and is not scared of you. And going on the road in league is the most dangerous time of the year.’

And if if the Toreadors need any other reminders? ‘La Mirada at home beating Artesia last year,’ Taylor reminded.
