San Pedro is dictating the tempo with its defensive pressure on Venice quarterback Alfonso Medina (four sacks) and its running from tailback Joseph Deguchi (13 carries for 70 yards).
The Pirates scored on a 35-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Barry Heads to wide receiver Tim Mills at the 1:39 mark. The score capped a 91-yard, 13-play drive that culminated 8:13 of the second quarter.
San Pedro has limited the Gondoliers to 62 yards of total offense, 2 yards of rushing offense.
