Girls’ basketball: Buena ahead 22-20 at halftime

It was all Ventura Buena in the second quarter and the Bulldogs have come back to take a 22-20 lead over Rialto at halftime of the Southern Section Division 2AA championship game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Senior guard Keani Albanez has 11 points and six rebounds and sophomore guard Taylor McGuire has six points for Buena, which outscored Rialto 14-6 in the second quarter.

Janae’ Sharpe has eight points and Denae Williams has five points and four rebounds for the Knights, who have made just six of 29 field goal attempts and have turned the ball over nine times.
