Dale F. Pilz has resigned as chief executive of GTE Sprint, the nation’s No. 3 long-distance telephone company. Donald G. Prigmore, Sprint president, will take over Pilz’ responsibilities, but the post of chief executive officer will not be filled. GTE Sprint is a unit of GTE Corp. of Stamford, Conn.
