District Hires Consultants to Aid New Staff

HUNTINGTON PARK — The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Region B, which serves the Southeast area, has hired 17 retired educators and 21 who are on vacation from year-round schools to assist new teachers art schools troubled by high staff turnover, school officials said.
Funds remain to hire additional teaching consultants to help break in about 100 beginning teachers in the region, said Takako Suzuki, regional administrator of the priority staffing program.
