Champion Anatoly Karpov and challenger Gary Kasparov agreed to a draw in the 44th game of their world chess championship match in Moscow. Karpov, who holds a 5-1 advantage and needs only one more win to retain his title, accepted Kasparov’s offer for a draw on the challenger’s 38th move. Play resumes on Wednesday.
