Prudential Buys San Francisco’s Crocker Center

One of 1984’s largest real estate transactions has been completed with closing of the sale of the Crocker Center in downtown San Francisco for $358 million.
Prudential Insurance Co. of America purchased the 1.4-million-square foot office/retail complex last month from Crocker National Corp., holding company for Crocker National Bank. Crocker Center will retain its name and continue as the bank’s headquarters.
Other San Francisco real estate owned by Prudential includes the Embarcadero Center office/hotel complex and two hotels, the San Francisco Hilton and the Hyatt on Union Square.
