Murphy and Rogers Help UC Irvine Score 70-65 Victory Over Pacific

STOCKTON — Forward Tod Murphy and center Johnny Rogers scored 16 points each to lead UC Irvine to a 70-65 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. basketball victory over University of Pacific Saturday night.
Pacific took a 31-28 lead at halftime. But led by guard Jerome Lee, who scored 10 points in the second half, Irvine outscored the Tigers, 17-9, in the first eight minutes of the second half.
Irvine’s Troy Carmon and Wayne Engelstad also had 10 points apiece as Irvine raised its record to 11-12 overall and 6-6 in the PCAA.
Pacific is 7-14 and 3-9. Foreward Domingo Rosario led the Tigers with 20 points, while Brent Counts and James Ray Richardson each added 13.
