French New-Car Market

PARIS — The French market for new cars remained depressed in January, with new registrations down 4.4% from a year earlier, the Car Manufacturers’ Assn. said.

The industry group attributed the decline partly to poor weather conditions and partly to the increased cost of vehicle ownership.
