South Bay Free Clinic will dedicate its fourth and newest service site, a mental health center at 320 Knob Hill Ave., with an open house Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Participating will be Supervisor Deane Dana, acting county Mental Health Director Roberto Quiroz and artist James Paul Brown.
Housed at the former Patterson Elementary School, the facility will provide free mental health services to the community, according to Gary Bess, executive director of the free clinic. A professional staff of volunteer therapists and graduate student interns provide client services. Ed Armstrong, formerly executive director of a National Council on Alcoholism office in New Jersey, has been named director of the center.
