SAN DIEGO — San Diego Sockers midfielder Branko Segota will play in the Major Indoor Soccer League All-Star game after all.
Segota had been left off the original team, but was picked Thursday to replace teammate Brian Quinn.
Quinn (15 goals and 15 assists) hyperextended his right knee in Wednesday night’s 7-5 win over the Las Vegas Americans, and will be unable to play in Sunday’s All-Star game at the Richfield Coliseum outside Cleveland.
Segota has 40 goals and 25 assists, and is tied with Stan Stamenkovic of Baltimore as the third leading scorer in the MISL. Steve Zungul of the Sockers leads the league with 92 points, followed by Karl-Heinz Granitza of Chicago with 83.
