Bicyclist Shot, Gunman Flees on Another Bike

A Compton man riding his bicycle was wounded early Friday by a gunman who then fled perched on the handlebars of a bicycle pedaled by a second man who had been waiting nearby, police said.
Phillip Oballe, 28, was leaving a fast-food restaurant on Rosecrans Avenue at Willowbrook Street when he was shot, police said. He was in serious condition at Martin Luther King Jr. General Hospital with three gunshot wounds in his upper body.
Police said no motive has been established for the attack and no suspects have been arrested.
