A 31-year-old Victorville resident was wounded by police officers after he allegedly led patrol cars on a high-speed chase for more than 20 miles, at one point driving the wrong way on Interstate 15. The man, who was not immediately identified, was hospitalized with a bullet wound in the leg, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sgt. Norm Hurst said. The chase began in Adelanto after a police officer saw the man involved in an assault. The man, driving a van, fled south on California 395 at speeds as high as 90 m.p.h., later turning onto Interstate 15 going south in northbound lanes, Hurst said. There were several near-misses between the van and northbound traffic. The man allegedly tried several times to ram pursuing patrol cars with his van, and was arrested after a collision with a patrol car.
