Edison Ranked First in Prep Baseball Poll

Edison High School, with six starters returning from a team that finished 22-6 last season, is the top-ranked team in the preseason Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep baseball poll.
The Chargers, who feature returning All-Southern Section pitcher Chip Damato, received six first-place votes while Los Amigos earned the other first-place vote. The season opens this week with the 32-team Loara Tournament beginning on Wednesday.
