Silva’s One-Hitter Leads Santa Ana College Past Cypress

Alani Silva hurled a one-hitter to lead the Santa Ana College softball team to a 2-0 victory over Cypress in South Coast Conference action Friday at Santa Ana.
Silva had 3 strikeouts in 6 1/2 innings.
Sam Arledge’s home run and Nelinda Barrera’s double knocked in both Don runs in the fourth inning. The Dons improved to 1-1 in conference and 14-1 overall. Cypress is 0-1 in conference.
In other South Coast Conference action:
Golden West 2, Mt. SAC 1--Catcher Adriane Mason had two doubles to lead the Rustlers’ hitting attack and Lisa Brady (9-6) scattered six hits as Golden West won the game at Walnut. The Rustlers improved to 2-0, 9-6 and the Mounties fell to 0-2 in conference.
