Northridge Swimmers Win NCAA Title Again

The Cal State Northridge men’s swimming team won its ninth NCAA title in 11 years under Coach Pete Accardy Saturday night, beating second-place Cal State Bakersfield by 70 1/2 points in the Division II championships at Orlando, Fla.
The Matadors, setting four meet records in the process, finished the four-day competition at the Justice Aquatics Center with 488 points, while Bakersfield had 417 1/2. The University of Tampa finished far back with 293 points for third.
The Northridge women, with three meet records, finished in second place with 380 1/2 points, well behind the University of South Florida’s 492.
