Former Olympics chief Peter V. Ueberroth announced in television commercials shown in the Los Angeles area Saturday that he is endorsing Mayor Tom Bradley’s bid for reelection.
Ueberroth, who currently is serving as U.S. baseball commissioner, said that during the five years they worked together to bring the 1984 Summer Games here, he “learned first-hand that Tom Bradley is a man of absolute integrity. . . .
“If they gave medals for leadership, Tom Bradley would be my choice for the gold,” Ueberroth said in the 30-second spot filmed in his office.
Ueberroth is a Republican. Bradley, a Democrat, has emphasized during the nonpartisan race that he played a major role in bringing the 1984 Olympics to Los Angeles.
