The pitching and hitting of Steve Surico led Tustin High School to a nonleague doubleheader sweep of Serra Friday, 6-5 and 20-0, at Tustin.
In the first game, Surico went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Tillers (8-5) to a comeback victory.
Tustin trailed, 5-3, going into the bottom of the fifth inning when three consecutive Tiller singles cut the Serra lead to 5-4. Then, after a passed ball moved runners to second and third, Surico singled to drive in the tying and go-ahead runs. Dave Staton got the win for Tustin.
In the nightcap, the Tillers took advantage of 17 walks to rout the Cavaliers. Surico pitched the first three innings to get the win and improve his record to 4-2. Staton, Darren Puckett and Jeff Smith each had two hits to lead the Tustin offense.
