A man who wandered into a Bay Area Rapid Transit tunnel in Berkeley was in critical condition at a hospital after apparently being struck by a train. BART authorities said they werre not certain what Ardell Manning, 36 was doing a quarter of a mile inside the tunnel, but cans of food and bottles found near the accident scene indicated he may have gone there to seek shelter.
