Carlander Wins USC’s MVP Award Again

Senior forward Wayne Carlander, the Pacific 10 Player of the Year, was named USC’s Most Valuable Player for the second straight season Thursday night at the Trojans’ basketball awards banquet at the Biltmore Hotel.
Carlander also won the 110% Effort Award and was named co-captain of the team along with Ron Holmes. Derrick Dowell was named Most Inspirational Player, Larry Friend the Best Defensive Player.
