Fire Killed Air Crash Survivors

WASHINGTON — Several people survived the impact of a Galaxy Airlines crash in January only to die in the fire and smoke that swept the Lockheed Electra aircraft, a federal investigation disclosed today.
A report by the National Transportation Safety Board indicated some passengers and flight attendants could have survived the crash had they been able to leave the burning turboprop plane.
