Los Angeles West C of C Presents Annual Awards

The Wilshire Bundy Plaza was cited last week by the Los Angeles West Chamber of Commerce as the best commercial high-rise at the group’s 15th annual Beautification Awards program at the Hotel Bel-Air.
The building is owned by Murdock-WB Associates Ltd. and was designed by Widom-Wein & Partners Inc. and Richard Magee & Associates. The award for low-rise commercial development went to the Sawtelle Centre, 2127 Sawtelle Blvd., owned by the Sawtelle Group and designed by Benton/Park/Candreva.
Chamber President Dori Pye presented the Landmark Award for architectural significance to the Century Plaza Towers in Century City.
Other awards: Jeffrey Tamkin Award and award for new public project, Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airport, designed by Welton Becket Associates; Redwood Village, 13150 Maxella Ave., new multifamily low-rise construction, owned by Thomas Safran & Associates, designed by Kamnitzer & Cotton.
New single-family residential award went to Don Christian home, 3711 Mandeville Canyon Road, designed by architect/owner Don Christian; Executive Life Center, 11444 Olympic Blvd., commercial landscape award, landscape architect Lawrence Reed Moline Ltd., contractor, Flora Landscape Inc.; residential landscape award went to the Schwartz/McManus residence, 265 Westgate Ave., landscape architect Douglas Bungert, ASLA & Associates, contractor, Heritage Landscape Inc.
