Five families were left homeless Monday when flames destroyed a two-story building on Wilson Road in Ramona, sheriff’s deputies said. The fire, which spread from the garage, caused damage estimated at $400,000. Six vehicles parked in the garage were destroyed, Sgt. Paul Nevills of the Sheriff’s Department said. A mobile home nearby was also damaged. Firefighters from Ramona, San Diego, Poway and the California Division of Forestry responded to the blaze, which took 45 minutes to control, Nevills said. No injuries were reported and sheriff’s arson investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
