Mortar Shells Removed Safely After Truck Wreck

BONNIEVILLE, Ky. — Military crews safely removed a shipment of mortar shells from a truck that rear-ended a parked vehicle Friday, allowing persons evacuated from a one-mile area to return, state police said.
None of the shells exploded, but the truck driver and a passenger were injured. The shells were headed for a Navy base in Groton, Conn.
