Titans Seek Fifth Straight WCAA Softball Title

The top-ranked Cal State Fullerton softball team will be seek its fifth consecutive Western Collegiate Athletic Assn. championship Saturday when it plays defending national champion UCLA in a doubleheader at Titan Softball Field.
The Titans (10-0 in conference) need one win to clinch the title. Fourth-ranked UCLA (9-1 in the WCAA) needs a sweep to take the conference crown. This will be the last championship the disbanding WCAA will award.
The doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. Fullerton will start pitchers Debbie Mygind (24-3, 0.25 ERA) and Sue LeFebvre (20-5, 0.43). Mygind has pitched two no-hitters and a perfect game this season.
UCLA will counter pitchers Tracy Compton (16-3, 0.05) and Debbie Doom (17-2, 0.26) Doom has 176 strikeouts this season.
