Asphyxiation Victims in Trailer Identified

The Los Angeles County Cororner’s office on Tuesday released the names of two people found asphyxiated in a trailer Monday in Van Nuys.
Killed were Kenneth Ernest Schultz, 63, of Sherman Oaks, and Valerie Ann White, 23, of Bakersfield. A coroner’s spokesman said Tuesday the two apparently died because they allowed barbecue coals to continue burning inside the trailer to provide heat. The coals eventually consumed the oxygen in the trailer, the spokesman said.
