Fullerton : Council Approves Loan of $600,000 to Museum

The Museum of North Orange County received a $600,000 boost from the city to refurbish the 45-year-old building.
City Council members, who denied a $900,000 loan request in March, unanimously agreed last week to a revised proposal. The new plan calls for the museum to pay back the $600,000 loan in 10 years.
Museum officials plan to use the money to fix substandard electrical wiring and plumbing, among other items in the old library building that houses the museum. The city plans to continue leasing the building at Pomona and Wilshire avenues from the Community College District of North Orange County for $1 a year.
