The county Master Plan for Respite Care will be presented for public review by Supervisor Deane Dana from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday in the Community Room of Santa Monica Place.
For the past five months, Westside Independent Services to the Elderly, Andrus Gerontology Center of USC and the Andrus Volunteers have worked on designing this countywide plan, under a grant from the County Area Agency on Aging.
A spokeswoman said that the plan is aimed at those people who take care of the frail and the disabled, often in their homes. The plan recommends ways to strengthen resources, set up new programs and enhance the use of existing mutual-help groups for people providing the care.
