‘Reagan as 41st Hostage’
Conrad’s cartoon is an outrage. Not only does it miss the mark in fact, but by using the symbolic six-pointed star representing the Jewish people and the State of Israel, Conrad’s statement is an affront to all Jews.
Read Page 1 of your newspaper, Mr. Conrad. Israel and the United States agree there should be no concessions to hijackers. Our President is not being kept from taking action by either the Jewish people or by Israel.
We all want the hostages freed and the hijackers punished. Air piracy is a difficult crime with which to deal. Patience, political skill and restraint are the skills needed--not Conrad’s poison pen.
