Ex-Hawaii Justice Charged With Theft

HONOLULU — Retired Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Kazuhisa Abe has been arrested on charges of conspiracy and theft in connection with alleged multimillion-dollar fraudulent sales of commodities.
Abe, 71, who will be arraigned July 15, was arrested Friday after a grand jury returned indictments against him and seven others.
Rick Reed of the city prosecutor’s office said that the alleged fraudulent dealings cost Hawaii investors about $3 million and investors worldwide about $37 million.
