Los Angeles police are investigating the disappearance of up to $250,000 from the coffers of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lt. Lester Blank of the Bunco-Fraud Division said detectives have been meeting with team officials, who discovered the apparent embezzlement during a routine audit of the baseball club’s financial records. Blank declined to say if any current front-office employees might be involved, saying only that no arrests have been made and that several more meetings with team officials are scheduled this week. A spokesman for the Dodgers declined to comment on the matter.
