A 15-year-old girl died and her brother is in serious condition at Palomar Hospital after the motorcycle her brother was driving collided with a car in Rancho Bernardo Wednesday night, a coroner’s deputy said.
Judy Lynn Jefferies, who was a freshman at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego, died at Pomerado Hospital at 12:23 a.m. Thursday, Deputy Coroner George Dickason said. Jefferies had been seated on a motorcycle behind her 16-year-old brother, Matthew, when the motorcycle hit a car at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, he said.
The motorcycle was going south on Bernardo Oaks Road when it hit from behind a car driven by Norman Testa, Dickason said. The south-bound car was attempting to make a left turn, Dickason said.
