Sylmar Reaches Final of North Valley Event

Lance Ornelas tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Sylmar past Simi Valley, 6-0, Thursday night and into the championship of the North Valley Youth Baseball 13-year-old all-star tournament.
Sylmar meets West Hills (Woodland Hills) in a best-of-three series this weekend at the North Valley Youth Baseball Assn. complex in Granada Hills.
The teams will meet Saturday in a doubleheader, with the first game scheduled for 10 a.m. If necessary, Sunday’s deciding game would begin at 1 p.m.
