An unidentified woman was killed Friday night when she was struck by an Amtrak passenger train on the railroad tracks about 125 feet north of Vista Way in Oceanside, the San Diego County Coroner’s office said.
A deputy coroner said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:37 p.m. after suffering massive injuries. Her body was bruised beyond recognition. .
She apparently had been running along the tracks toward the northbound train, he said. The coroner’s investigation is continuing.
