LONDON — The council of Cardiff, the capital of Wales, has voted to lift its temporary ban on “Rambo: First Blood Part II.”
The council imposed the temporary ban last Thursday on the film, which was attacked by the British Safety Council for its “mindless violence,” until its licensing committee could view it.
The committee, which has the authority to review all films shown in the town, saw the movie Monday and decided that it could be shown in the city.
“The movie will go ahead as scheduled for Aug. 30,” said Ken Ravenscroft, assistant manager for Cardiff’s ABC theater.
