SALEM, Wis. — A 2,000-pound bull on its way to be slaughtered fatally crushed its owner today, nine hours after the animal gored and trampled a farm employee, killing him. The bull was then destroyed by authorities.
Raymond Fox, 65, and several farm hands were attempting to load the bull onto a truck when the bull trapped Fox and crushed him, authorities said. The bull Tuesday night gored and trampled William Guffy, 58, a farm employee who had treated the animal as a pet, as he tried to feed it in its pen.
