WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Philip Demik’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning capped a five-run rally and gave Binbrook, Ontario, a 6-5 victory over Saudi Arabia Wednesday, lifting the Canadians into the semifinals of the Little League World Series.
Binbrook, which entered the final inning hitless against the Saudi ace, Tim Cariss, had four hits and took advantage of an error and four wild pitches in its rally.
Binbrook will face Seoul, South Korea, in today’s semifinal.
In the other semifinal, Mexicali, Mexico, will face Morristown, Tenn., which defeated Minnetonka, Minn., 5-1, Wednesday behind Richie Conway’s two-hitter and a home run by catcher Rocky McElheney.
Conway came within two outs of pitching a no-hitter.
