Investors will purchase 30% of Hal Roach Studios.

The Los Angeles film company, which has pioneered computerized coloring of movies made in black and white, said a group of unidentified film industry executives have agreed to purchase a total of 2 million shares in the company for as much $7 million. Under the plan, expected to be completed Oct. 7, some member of the group will be investors only, while others “may not contribute money but will assume management positions.” Hal Roach Studios said it needs the funding because it is expanding so quickly.
