The decomposed head of an unidentified person was discovered Wednesday evening floating in a northeastern cove of Mission Bay, a deputy coroner said.
A worker at the Campland on the Bay campground saw the head drifting near shore and notified authorities, the deputy said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the death along with the coroner’s office, the deputy said.
