Students at Madison School will get a city crossing guard to guide them across the intersection of Mackay Lane and Nelson Avenue, under a motion approved by the City Council. School officials had requested the guard at the crosswalk, which is used by 40 students. The city engineer estimates that 375 vehicles pass through the intersection during the hours students are crossing the street.
