The City Council has ratified a Planning Commission decision to permit temporary replacement of a house trailer at 3 Pinto Road in the Flying Triangle landslide area of Rolling Hills. Mr. and Mrs. France Raine will use the 12-by-50-foot trailer as a home for three months while a network of steel I-beams and railroad ties is installed under their 20-year-old home. The steel understructure, which will elevate the home off the ground, will be able to be periodically adjusted to allow for earth movement in the Flying Triangle, where a slow-moving landslide has destroyed four homes since 1980. The Raine family is the third in the Flying Triangle to install steel beams beneath their homes.
