CORONA — A Corona man, charged with attempted murder in connection with a severe beating of his girlfriend’s young son, was being held Friday in Riverside County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail a police spokesman said.
Daniel Rees, 27, was arrested Thursday night by Corona police, said Sgt. Henry Aja, after an investigation of the apparent beating of a 3-year-old Corona boy, admitted to Riverside General Hospital on Wednesday.
The boy, whose name was not released, had been taken to the emergency room at midnight Wednesday, suffering major head trauma, Aja said. The boy was in a coma Friday and was listed in critical condition.
