Buena Park : City Manager Search Narrowed to 5 People
- Share via
After narrowing the list of applicants from 110 to five, Buena Park officials will soon decide on a permanent city manager.
Planning director Pat Brown has been serving in both his position and that of acting city manager since December, 1984, when former manager Ron Bates left to become assistant city manager in Anaheim. Brown is one of the five candidates for the position, said Sue Williams, acting administrative assistant to the city manager.
Williams would not say who the other four applicants are, explaining that most are city managers in other cities, including one in Orange County, and that such a disclosure could jeopardize their current positions.
The position’s salary is negotiated with the council, Williams said. When Bates left in December, he was earning $64,300, she said.
