Construction has started on Stewart Plaza, a Westrend Development project in Upland at the southeast corner of Arrow Highway and Mountain Avenue.
The $12-million development will offer full-service office space as well as executive suites and two or three restaurants are anticipated on the site, as well as at least one financial institution, according to the developers.
Stewart Plaza will replace the lemon grove that has been in the pioneer Stewart family for 100 years. The original grove was planted in 1885 by the father of Walter E. Stewart, the present owner.
