Construction has begun on the $48-million Pacific Bell Service Center in Tustin.
Designed by Woodford & Bernard Architects of San Diego, the project will be completed in two phases: the first consisting of two 112,260-square-foot buildings costing $14 million; the second totaling 449,040 square feet.
The complex was designed to provide greater efficiency in telephone service, administration and training by consolidating Pacific Bell facilities. The service centers are currently in more than 12 buildings throughout Orange County.
