BOSTON — A new assistant bishop for the nation’s largest Episcopal diocese was ordained in a ceremony at a Roman Catholic cathedral attended by Catholic, Protestant and Greek Orthodox leaders.
The Rev. David Elliot Johnson, 52, will become the 14th bishop of the diocese when the Rt. Rev. John B. Coburn retires next year. Johnson was installed Saturday before more than 2,500 people who packed the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
