$500,000 in Medical Supplies Sent to Mexico

A cargo plane loaded with $500,000 worth of supplies for victims in earthquake-devastated Mexico left Los Angeles International Airport, organizers said Sunday.
The DC-10 was filled with 140,000 pounds of medical and other supplies intended for the American-British Hospital, the General Hospital of Mexico City, the University of Anahuac and the Mexican Red Cross, a spokesman for Operation California said.
